Our Bikes

The majority of our bicycle fleet are Cannondale bikes; Cannondale is the premier bicycle manufacturer in North America and Europe. You can choose between hybrid or racing (dropped handlebar) style bikes.

Specs:

Our Cannondale hybrid bikes are Adventure 600 model with aluminum frame and components are follows:

• Components: Shimano Alivio (front) SRAM SX-5 (rear)

• Crank: 26/36/48

• Rear cogs: 12-32

• Seat: Selle Royal Freccia

• Color: Patriot Blue

Our Cannondale racing bikes are CAAD 5 aluminum frames with components as follows:

• Components: Shimano Tiagra

• Crank (triple): 30/42/53

• Rear Cogs:SRAM PG-950, 12-26

• Seat: Selle Royal Viper

• Color: SAECO Team Replica

We also have a fleet of Van Nicholas Mistral titanium bikes (54 cm; 56 cm; 58 cm; 60 cm sizes)

• Components: Shimano 105

• SRAM Elita Compact Crankset, 50/34T

• Rear Cogs: Shimano 105 CS-5700 Cassette, 12-25

 

All bikes come with handlebar bag, pump, tire levers, spare tube, water bottle carrier and Great Explorations water bottle. Most, but not all of our bikes have rear racks. Our fleet is among the newest of any bike company. We tune each bike prior to your arrival so that it is ready to ride for you.

Great Explorations maintains the largest number of bike depots in Europe (Loire Valley, Normandy, Brittany, Dordogne, Provence, Pamplona, Andalucia, Tuscany, Umbria, Turkey, Morocco to name some). We also have bike depots in North America and elsewhere in the world where we travel; in regions where we do not own bikes, we rent the best available and these are of comparable quality to our own fleet. The bicycle you ride will be a very important factor in how much you enjoy your trip. We think you'll agree our bicycles are the best in the industry!
