Tour de France, Alps to Paris

Tour with the Pros

Our TDF Alps to Paris trip will begin in Grenoble and finish 8 days later in Paris. We've planned superb rides with a good mix of moderate and challenging routes including Alpe D'Huez! You'll see 5 stages including what is expected to be the most critical mountain stage, the thrilling individual time trial and of course, the stage that finishes on the Champs D'Elyssees.

Accommodations (2008 trip)

Hotel Angleterre, Grenoble
This 3-star hotel is situated in the historical center of Grenoble, bordering the gardens of Place Victor Hugo and facing the Vercors mountains. Easy walking distance to the many cafes, shops and restaurants makes this an ideal hotel in the center. All rooms air conditioned (important in July and August in Grenoble).

Domaine de Clairefontaine, Chonas
This extraordinary property, once the summer residence of the bishops of Lyon, boasts a large park of 3 hectares with trees over 300 years old. The fine restaurant here is presided over by Philippe Girardon and features produce from the hotel’s gardens.

Hotel Midland, Vichy
This classic hotel has been welcoming guests for over 100 years and features large rooms with massaging hydro-jet baths, good for post-cycling.

Hotel Paris , Paris
In the center of Paris, facing the Tuileries gardens, this 4-star boutique hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the Orsay and Louvre museums and the Seine river. This hotel combines charm of the past and modern comforts and best of all, a view onto the race route along the Champs Elyssees.
